Two matches for Archers to begin the season

Ashcombe Archers started their new season with a very busy weekend playing VBDC Ducks at home on Saturday 17th and then Spelthorne Sharks away on 18th October. Both teams included a mixture of experienced and new players and coach Pat Willis made sure everyone had a suitable time on court. Novice players included Maddy Costello, Evelyn Smith, Olivia Davidson, Katie Beth Hooper, Angelina Carstens, Gaby Burby, Anje Rautenbach, Kira Abromava, Lucy Lowe and Clarissa Wong. Ashcombe regulars Arisara Namondee, Beth Gil, Lily Garrett, Rianna Fernandes, Asya Ganal and Pat Willis motivated the new players to enjoy their first competitive matches and learn more about volleyball with Ashcombe VC. The 2-2 draw v VBDC ended with a win on points for VBDC Ducks and the 0-3 loss to Spelthorne reflected how strong the opposition was.
