Mixed results for Ashcombe teams


Ashcombe Dorking 1 traveled to Bristol on Saturday 2nd March to play Bristol 2. Playing without some key players Ashcombe struggled to find their form and lost 3-0. Ashcombe can try to get their revenge when Bristol come to Dorking on Saturday 9th March. Ashcombe Dorking 2 had their last 2 matches at home on Sunday 3rd March. After beating Sussex Dolphins 3-0, AD2 faced London Lionhearts, the top of the league team who have failed to lose a set this year. Ashcombe fought well and despite a 3-0 loss played some of their best volleyball of the season and Lionhearts paid them the compliment of saying they were the strongest team they had played this season. Ashcombe Under 16 team took part in the Last 8’s at the Kettering Volleyball Centre. The young side found the competition tough and lost all three matches 2-0 against Newcastle Staffs, Tameside and Richmond. The Under 16 finals are on Sunday 28th April and will be contested by Richmond and Malory and Graveney Eagles.
