Ashcombe’s Luke Thomas Short listed for Surrey Coach of the Year

Ashcombe Volleyball Club Head Coach Luke Thomas has made it into the final shortlist of three for the title of Active Surrey Coach of the Year in the Surrey Sports Awards. Luke is the Head Coach for the Super8 side as well as coaching many of Ashcombe’s junior players. Luke played for Ashcombe as a junior and after gaining his degreefrom Brunel University and coaching in London he moved back to work with Ashcombe. Luke is an FIVB (Federation International de Volleyball) Level 3 Volleyball coach making him one
of the most qualified coaches in England. Luke is the only nominee from Mole Valley in any category. The winners will be announced on 5th December at the Awards Dinner at Kempton Park Racecourse.

The event, organised by Active Surrey, now in its seventh year will be hosted by BBC Surrey presenter Tim Durrans. We will welcome special guests including Liam Heath; a London 2012 kayaking Olympic bronze medalist and Paralympic wheelchair basketballer Helen Turner. Plus special entertainment from Vision Choir which features volunteers from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies,
