Ashcombe Volleyball to Host Great Britain Sitting Volleyball Squads for 2014/15 Season.

The Great Britain Sitting Volleyball Men’s and Women’s teams have confirmed that they will use the Ashcombe Volleyball Centre as their training base for this coming season. The Great Britain Women’s team trained at Ashcombe across the 2013/14 season and the Men’s squad have joined them for the coming campaign. Both squads feature 2012 Paralympians along with several new faces who have joined post 2012.

 

The Women’s team finished 11th at last years World Championships and will look to improve upon this performance this season. First up for several of the squads will be taking part in the Invictus games on the 14th September. The event in London will bring together for the first time servicemen and women – both serving and veteran – from 14 nations. The Invictus Games will spotlight the sacrifices these men and women made serving their country.

 

The players will also be playing for their domestic teams when the Volleyball England Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix comes to Ashcombe on 28thSeptember. This event showcases Sitting Volleyball at it’s best and entry is free to spectators with refreshments available throughout.

 

Ashcombe Volleyball Club are providing the facilities and support for the teams alongside their current training schedule ahead of their National League campaign which begins at the end of September.
