Ashcombe Volleyball Club kick off month long festival of Volleyball in Mole Valley with ‘Mole Volley 2014’
Throughout June Ashcombe Volleyball Club will be hosting a month long festival of Volleyball under the new heading of ‘Mole Volley 2014’.
The festival begins this coming weekend (31st May/ 1st June) with a full weekend programme of activities at the Ashcombe Volleyball Centre. Firstly the Dorking Invitational Tournament will feature top Women’s National Volleyball League teams in an Indoor 6 a-side Post-Season tournament taking place on both Saturday and Sunday.
Secondly the Great Britain Sitting Volleyball Squads will be taking part in a tournament in order to raise their match fitness ahead of their many upcoming competitions including several members of the squad taking part in the Invictus Games in September.
Additionally there will also be the Surrey Volleyball League Outdoor Tournament taking place on Saturday 31st May. Teams from Epsom, Dorking , Spelthorne, Ashcombe,Friends Life, Mole Valley and East Grinstead will all be taking part in this grass tournament.
Spectators are welcome to all three events and entry is free of charge all weekend. Refreshments will be available on both days, supporting Ashcombe Volleyball Club.
The next Volleyball as part of Mole Volley 2014 will be on 7th and 8th June with the South East Volleyball Association Champions Tournament being held at the Ashcombe Volleyball Centre. Top Men’s and Women’s teams from all the South East county leagues come together to compete for the title of South East Champions 2014 and qualify for the Regional Champions Trophy held in Kettering.
For the first time this year Ashcombe Volleyball Club will be hosting the Ashcombe Corporate Challenge to take place between workplace teams. This will take place on either 24th or 26th June depending on World Cup Football Fixtures and the weather. To register your companies interest please email [email protected]
Glitz and glamour will come to Dorking Rugby Club as Ashcombe Volleyball Club hold their Annual Awards evening on 27th June. All club members will be present as the winners are revealed across a number of categories including the prestigious player of the year award, last year won by former Great Britain Beach Volleyball international Lucy Boulton.
The culmination of the Mole Volley Festival will be the 38th Ashcombe Volleyball Tournament held at the Big Field in Brockham on 28th and 29th June. One of the biggest Outdoor Volleyball Tournaments in the country, both days will see over 1000 participants descend on the Surrey Hills location. This year Junior age group and 4 aside competitions will take place on the Saturday with the 6 aside competition rounding off Mole Volley 2014.
Entries for the Ashcombe Tournament are still being accepted and early-bird prices are in operation until 1st June so book today to take advantage of these lower prices. There is also food and a disco on the Saturday evening which is a great way to relax with team mates and fellow competitors.
